List of GCA file types

This is a list of file types used by GCA.

| .gdf | GCA Data File | Data and directives used to populate GCA's character trait lists. |
| .gcs | GCA Character Sheet | A Visual Basic Script applet which outputs a formatted copy of a character which is suited for printing. |
| .gce | GCA Character Export | A Visual Basic Script applet which outputs a formatted copy of a character which is suited for exporting to a file. |
| .gca4 | GCA Character File | A saved character. |
| .gca4base | GCA Character Base File | A saved character framework. Functionally equivalent to GCA Character Files, with one special difference. When saving a character loaded from a GCA Character Base File, GCA will prompt the user for a new save file rather than saving to the original file. This is useful for creating character frameworks which can be reused repeatedly with no fear of overwriting the original file. |
| .gca4party | GCA Character Party File | A saved character party. Functionally, a file containing the filenames of the actual GCA Character Files of each party member. |
