Finally, bits return

Added @ceiling(value) and @floor(value) functions to the solver (@ceil may also be used for @ceiling). @Ceiling(value) returns the smallest integer value that is greater than or equal to the given value. @Floor(value) returns the largest integer that is less than or equal to the given value.

How are things going with GCA5 overall? Even if it is still a long way off, I can’t help but be excited. Also, you should consider linking your blog posts to the official SJGames forums for GCA. I think more people would be interested to read them if you linked them there. 🙂

Things are going reasonably well. Slowly, but pretty well.

It’s usable, and I think works quite nicely. It’s prettier (IMO), and it’s a lot faster than GCA 4. I think it’s more stable, too, but I still have to work out how to allow editing of things on the Sheet View (the equivalent of QuickView in 4), and the QuickView is the most unstable part of GCA 4, because of the way it’s cobbled together. I’m hoping to avoid some of the same problems here.

Still needs a variety of things, though, such as exports, and various party features.

Armin, do you have a mailing list or way to subscribe to your updates on GCA5? I’m a paid purchaser of GCA4 and still use it heavily with the group i’m currently involved with, and i’m very interested in further news of GCA’s progress. And i would be delighted to be a beta tester for v5 if every you find yourself in need of one. 🙂

Thanks for your devotion to this! And best regards!

      Thanks, I appreciate it.

There is no mailing list, I’m afraid. However, if you check the sidebar, way down the column, under the Meta heading, there is an RSS feed that you can subscribe to so that you’ll automatically get updates that are posted here. Beta testing is currently pretty limited; if there’s any change on that, I’ll likely announce it here and on the GCA forum at SJGames, so interested folks can see it.
